Pictures of aminals and back yard.
Anyone who knows me, will realise that there is no typo in the title of this post.
Since I had the camera out to take pictures of the damage, I thought I’d take a quick 50 of the yard, and aminals.

“I love these! Don’t you just LOVE these?”
or
“I’m so hungry; I could eat a HOUSE!”
Damn rat, fuzzy tailed rat and/or pig!
Close up
It’s starting to get cold, so this will likely just get plugged until the spring and added to my never diminishing list of fun things to do. Time to get some steel wool and expanding spray foam.
After being completely annoyed and disgusted with the quality of service provided by satellite internet, we have decided to switch to a local wireless provider (Ruranet/ISN). Their theoretical maximum download speed is slower than satellite, but they are in actuality far faster. They do not have all the latency problems that satellite has and they do not have a far too small maximum throughput per day quota (referred to as “Fair Access Policy”) that all satellite companies have, but do not advertise.
Switching away from satellite is like switching from dial-up to high speed. The difference is instantly noticeable. Unfortunately, the hurricane took down their Pownal Tower and therefore we are also out. They are working on it and we expect to be back online by tomorrow at the latest.
Well, it looks like hurricane Noel is going to come for a visit tomorrow. Actually, it is no longer considered a hurricane as the storm has changed to no longer have an eye. It is now referred to as a post-tropical storm. This does not mean that the it is not as dangerous, it is just a change in terminology. We are expecting 90 to 120 KM winds and LOTS of rain to start late in the day Saturday.
We have bought some bottle water, extra bread, etc. The wood stove is available for cooking on should the power go out for an extended period of time and we will make sure that there is lots of water available for animals and flushing in buckets.
The storm is supposed to pass right across The Island. Currently, the worst (the centre of the storm) is supposed to hit the eastern side of Nova Scotia. Look out Halifax and Yarmouth!
