I’m reading a book by Christopher Hitchens entitled god is not Great - How Religion Poisons Everything

Here’s a video of him talking of his book and fielding questions:

Everyone should ready this book. Check out: http://www.hitchensweb.com/

Winter. . .

By Gentleman Farmer at 12:05 pm on January 10, 2008 | No comments

There’s not very much going on around here these days. Typical winter shut-in days are upon us. We work all the time these days. The December rush typically tends to let up in March… We were trying to plan an outing for this Saturday, but we need to find an ugly unpopular baby sitter with no social life. :-) We’ve put off our plans until next week-end and booked one of our socialite baby-sitters for then.
After a few days of freezing cold and then many days of snow (we received a month’s worth of snow in one week), we have had one week of warm weather and it looks like it will continue for at least a few more days. We are getting above freezing temperatures (even many of the overnight lows are above zero) and all the snow has melted away to nothing. The grass and poop is showing all over the yard and horse paddock.

Snow

By Gentleman Farmer at 8:26 pm on January 1, 2008 | No comments

So far this winter, we have received more snow than the last two winters combined. We are expecting another 30 cm to fall during today and tomorrow. Thankfully, we found someone to clear our driveway which was becoming difficult to navigate.

What do horses do when it snows like that? Well, they eat and walk around as always, but enjoy it a lot less…
