Portobello “helps” with the laundry

By Gentleman Farmer at 12:28 pm on January 23, 2009 | 3 Comments

As I am sure is the case with many households, getting the unending pile of laundry in hand is one that we are constantly battling. As soon as we catch up, it seems that there is another mountainous pile to get through. Luckily, we have a wonderful helper who is always willing to pitch in.

Here’s how he helps:

  1. We lug the clothes down to the washer.
  2. We wash the clothes.
  3. We dry the clothes
  4. We carry the clean clothes into the living room and dump it on a chair
  5. We start to fold the clothes
  6. We are distracted by something or get called away
  7. Portobello decides to help! Oh no! He has no thumbs! Oh well, I guess it’s just as good for him to rub his snotty nose on all the clothes and drag them over in front of the wood stove to make a nest in them…

When I first caught him at this, he was lying down all contentedly. He even looks like he smiles a bit. He got up into his fighting stance when he heard me coming with the camera. He actually gets mad at you for picking the clothes back up and will push you and squeal when you are trying to collect them.
