Did you get dial tone when you picked up the receiver or did the opperator ask you who you wanted to call? And if you didn’t know the number, she could dial it anyway because she knows everyone?
    Crazy!!

Please note that beside the pay phone is a phone labelled City Taxi – in a province where they don’t have to specify which taxi co. you are calling, you expected something different.

I believe that you are making an assumption. The phone is clearly labelled “_ITY TAXI.” Perhaps this is a taxi service where all the drivers are extremely buxom and also poor spellers!

There’s also a CO-OP Taxi in Ch’town. Which is likely what the Yellow phone (cut off in the picture) is for.

Now we all know that you do not have to pay to use the ity Taxi phone!
I read Ch’town to be Chinatown at first. I was going to ask if that was THE asian family’s home!

Even scarier that each taxi company can have their own phone! Can’t see that happening in TO – there would have to have HUNDREDS of phones and bars/restaurants would have to have a separate room just for the taxi phones.
